Difficult to believe when you lose a headlamp you have to replace the entire headlight assembly, including power amplifier. Somehow the headlamp assembly leaks, gets moisture inside and then burns out. One would think this high tech assembly would be moisture proof. No accident, bump or anything, they just leak per our mechanic. I view this as a manufacture defect...especially for a part/labor being this expensive. Getting quotes now...parts and labor could be $1500-$1800. We have enjoyed our Cadillacs, however, I think it is our last one.

My headlight has gone out twice. The first time I had to drain water out of the light fixture, because of a poorly manufactured seal that wears and lets rain flow straight into it. After I dried it out with a hair dryer and plugged it back in it worked fine. Now I’ve got water in it again and the light has burnt out. I’ve been told I can replace the fixture for about $700.00. Well, it will be the same fixture so that’s not a fix at all.
G.M. made a terrible mistake with the seals on these head lights and the solution isn’t for the consumer to pay $1400.00 to replace the headlight fixtures every three years. G.M. needs to design the fix and do a recall. There’s a class action lawsuit in two states don’t make your customers file more, we will.
