I bought a 2012cadillac about a month agoand was told by the dealer that there was no recalls on this car, but when i personally ran the vin number, it says this car has been recalled and I need to stop driving it because it's dangerous for me to be driving it because it could cause me to crash.this dealer ship also, grossly overcharged me, charging me "several thousand dollars more than the actual listed price".This car also floods my driver side and passenger side floors eachtime it rains. The water is coming in via my sunroof, which is causing my car to smell, and consequently gonna rot out my floor, and perhaps damage my electrical system and god only knows what other damage this water is doing to the integrity of my car.The dealer had me take my car to his mechanic who told me the problem was fixed which was a lie, because two days after he allegedly fixed the water problem, it rained and when i got in my car to go to an appointment... my floors were flooded with water again. The dealer who I bought the car from-"Arrow Motors",told me to take it back to his mechanic. between this leaking sunroof, and the recall i just found out about...I am really upset that this dealer sold me this car that is clearly defective and very unsafe and charged me $17,000. I feel like this guy lied to me and took advantage of me, I asked him several times if there was a recall on this car and he looked me in the eyes and said NO.I also asked him if there was anything wrong with this car and again he looked me in the eyes and said No.He had to have known about the recall, and about the problem with the sunroof leaking water inside the car. I only had this car for a month and spent all my money to buy it, but with the current issues, I feel it's not safe for me drive, and poses a serious risk to others too.P.S. Is there anyway I can get my money back, or sue them?

After a heavy storm, I attempted to start my car that was parked in the driveway, but nothing in the car would respond to the key fob or push to start. After jumping the battery, we were able to start the vehicle, however, the electrical systems were erratically shutting off and restarting. The gauges and system lights kept blinking and turning off. The engine began to smoke, so I turned the vehicle off. There was a musty smell which provoked me to search for water intrusion. The front floorboards were soaking wet. I couldn't get the liftgate open, so I climbed into the rear area and found compartments that had standing water. The rear carpets were also wet. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, and they informed me that the storm caused debri to clog the sunroof drains causing the overflow pans to pour into the vehicle. This caused the liftgate module to initiate a perpetual signal to the battery causing it to die. I also had water and fogging built up in the headlight covers reducing the lamp output. After researching this issue, I found that it is a very common design flaw that GM refuses to admit or even cover repairs beyond the initial manufacturer's warranty. This is very disconcerting because I'm sure the issue will happen again when there's a rain downpour, and it's only a matter of time before the water corrodes the liftgate module or other electronic components. Water avoidance is not an option. I feel that GM should own this problem they created and provide a permanent solution to the issue.

A letter was sent to me by Cadillac related to headlights that got moisture in them and became cloudy. It said they would pay to have this fixed for 1 or both headlights whether the problem had happened or not yet. I had just paid $1,600 to have 1 headlight replaced due to this very problem. The letter said I would be reimbursed if I had already paid to fix problem. I brought car and letter to my Cadillac dealership garland Cadillac at 972-840-4100. I showed them everything and they said they did not use the parts to fix my car that were listed on the letter to me. I asked for a copy of my bill with the parts they used on it so I could call Cadillac and got that. When I later looked in my paperwork the letter Cadillac sent me was missing, presumably kept by the dealership when I was there. I know due to covid everything was extended as far as time frames. I need help with having another copy of the letter sent to me, having the the dealership reimburse me for the repair of the 1 headlight, and in case the 2nd headlight develops an issue being able to go back to the dealership to have it fixed. If they did not use the appropriate parts to fix my initial headlight repair I am not sure what to do with that. The repair has been fine, done March of 2018. No accident has happened.

Seal on the back-up camera is broken allowing moisture and fog to greatly blur image. The dealer said it will cost $502 to repair. This is certainly a safety issue. Do not know why this happened as the image just keep getting worse while driving on city streets.

The power liftgate on my 2012 Cadillac Srx dropped (closed) all by itself with no warning while I was putting groceries in to the cargo storage area. It came down very hard hitting my neck and shoulder and knocked me to the ground. I had used the power button on the key fob while standing in the parking lot near the back of the car. The gate went up normally but just as I bent over to put things in, the gate came back down on me. I made an appointment with a dealer today to have it looked at but wanted to report this in hopes of sparing someone else from more serious injury in the future. I don't have any documentation to submit today but may have after my dealer appointment which is 3-17-20.

1. low beams head lights very weak had the lens buffed and polished but this only help a little. Having to use high beams when driving at night on single and two lane roads. Very unsafe night driving. 2. rear tail gate closes automatically after being opened for about 2 seconds, this action is subject to cause injury to persons using the rear gate to store or remove items from vehicle. Both issues occur whether vehicle is stationary or in motion. I see there is no recall issued for these safety issues but in my opinion there should have. I am submitting this on the behalf of my daughter. I entered a date because the digital form required it but these issues have been going on for quite some time now, not sure of the first occurrence. Thanks for any help concerning this safety issue. (xxxx) redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I just brought a caddilac Srx haven't had it for even a month yet. My child and I loved it until I started to notice water / moisture inside of the left headlight I thought it was maybe from the ac, however I noticed it wasn't going away. It has been raining nonstop and I barley leave my home unless I'm going to publix witch is walking distance. I couldn't see a vehicle in front of me as it looked dark causing me to almost crash into them but I swerved left missing them. The family was kind enough to make sure my child and I was ok then they inform me my headlight was out. I'm a safe driver and never been into a car accident. In my life. Before I made this purchase I contacted GM to make sure there were no recalls or issues that they know of with the car and they verify my VIN number and said no there's nothing to worry about it has no recalls. I felt relieved as I trust them. I took my car to GM to have the service manager check out the left light with water in it as I just got the car. He seemed stressed, so I reminded him that everyday above ground is always a good day. He looked at my car and saw both headlights one was in the addition that I bought it and the other one had water and moist inside. I invited the service manager inside my car to take a look the dashboard he then noticed that on the passenger side floor there was water he pulled back the clear tape and said you have a water leak this has to get taken care of fast or it's going to cause mold inside your care. My child is allergic to mold. He told me this was bigger then the headlight even though both mold and no headlight are both safely and health issues. My heart breaks for my child I cried when my child told me to his seems like a repeated cycle): If I had any notice of this I wouldn't brought the car. The manager said if I brought it in two months ago they would fix it for free

The low beam headlight lens is frosted over preventing headlights from projecting light at night. I have other vehicles flash lights at me on approach. I was warned on a recent trip to New Mexico, but did not get a tecket for not having headlights. Local GM/Cadillac dealer told me that they could not do anything. I dont drive at night as no low beam headlights. I bought and replaced with stronger low beam bulbs, but this did not help. Please issue a cs ease and desist stopping Cadillac sales in the us until this safet defect is corrected.

The lift gate fell down on me while getting packages out of the rear in my driveway. It was terrifying! once again, the lift gate fell down on my daughter a few weeks later at cvs parking lot, traumatizing her! she had her baby. I reported to tonia General Motors product assistance claims; concentrix on behalf of General Motors phone: 866-446-6963 X 5921511; they investigated, and "determined no warranty defect". how many sacrificial lambs before a recall? it is a manufacturer defect - water drains into 2 compartments from sunroof into draining compartments in the rear of car at lift gate, trapping moisture which burns out and corrodes lift gate and bluetooth modules. My sunroof still works, but not the lift gate of bluetooth. Nothing in maintenance manual other than in "features" to clean sunroof. Or it may not work. Nothing for maintenance of bluetooth problems or lift gate safety issues!

Opened rear gate hatch and reached into vehicle. Rear gate abruptly started closing on its own pinning me in the vehicle. Hatch was pressed against my upper back and upper right arm as I was trying to get out of the way. Hatch would not stop closing and continually kept banging my body until I could slither out from underneath it and then it forcefully slammed shut. I am a senior female and was pinned faced down "very scary". I called local Cadillac dealer and brought the vehicle in within a half hour. They took it in immediately, no questions asked and replaced the right strut. I inquired if there should be any type of safety features or sensors to prevent from hatch closing on you and they stated no. Next day later I am very bruised and sore.

Vehicle is parked (stationary) and when it rains water does not clear through sunroof drain hose, resulting in water leaking onto floorboards on front passenger side, into trunk area and liftgage, and backup camera and liftgate electrical shorts-out. This has been happening since vehicle was new and each time it requires repair, dealer claims the sunroof was left open during a rainstorm.

I was loading items in the back with the lift gate open when it suddenly began to close and hit me but continued to close, retracting only after about 5 seconds and a physical battle between me and the gate. I received a bruise on my arm from the battle and saw my life flash before my eyes. The car was off and stationary in my yard. It was the most frightening experience of my life!

Car is parked. Rear lift gate will not stay open. Opens then closes erratically. Could cause bodily harm if a person gets caught in the wild swing of the lift gate. The cause could be an electrical control module. My dealership keeps telling me there is a recall pending but this problem began two years ago and is still ongoing. I am not able to use the lift gate of this vehicle for fear of bodily harm. Please notify me when a recall has been issued.
