The way this vehicle was designed there are drain holes on the roof under the roof rack that devert water (rain, snow, carwash) into the rear hatch area. Overtime the pooling water causes damage to the motherboard and pumps which cause the power lift gate not to open. Unbeknown to the consumer there is no way to drain the standing water. Can't reach the spare tire or even open the hatch!

After reviewing Youtube and other car complaint website it is OBVIOUS that it happens way too often that when you open you sunroof all the way and it rains there is a drainage issue that malfunctions your motor and circuit board and kills your power lift gate.
This is a manufacturers defect and GM has not recalled it.
I am told that it is my responsibility to pay almost $800.00 when this should be a complimentary fix or a recall.
