Purchased a 2015 Cadillac Srx 10-9-2020. After driving for several weeks, noticed driving at night was hard to see, as low beam headlights were very dim. Took to an auto shop who inspected and suggested headlight bulbs be replaced. Drove a couple of nights and still had low visibility. Took back to auto shop and after an intense inspection, discovered the entire headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. Looking on the internet, we discovered this is a problem with many other Cadillac Srxs. I wrote a letter to GM describing my safety concerns with the vehicle. I was contacted by a customer service person, who in turn, put me in contact with a local Cadillac dealer. The dealer then put me through to their service rep, who told me they could do nothing for me, that the warranty had expired. All repair work would be out of pocket. The service rep told me that GM had sent out letters to Cadillac owners regarding the headlight repairs, and that the time had expired. I told him I didn't own the car at that time, so I was unaware of any letter, and the previous owner evidently didn't have it repaired. The cost to replace the both headlight assemblies is $1,950. Since this is a major safety problem of driving at night with low visibility, I am requesting that NHTSA help go to battle with GM and demand a recall to fix this problem on all Cadillac Srx vehicles before there are accidents, or worse yet, a death, caused from the lack of visibility while driving at night. This problem should not be. GM should not even think twice about repairing a car that defective components have been discovered on their cars. NHTSA, please help us!

My headlights are to dim, unable to see when I'm driving in the streets and highways. I have to switch to high beam due to my safety, but I'm disturbing other cars which I can cause them to have a accident as well. Also I can get pulled over by a cop any minute. I been having this problem since day one when I purchase the car over a year ago but I thought this was normal on this particular car. Plus I never made it a big deal due to I had no choice to continue driving it cause I couldn't return it. So we just decided to use the car just during day time. But lately we be using the car during night time now is becoming a problem.

The vehicle is dangerous to drive at night due to incredibly dim headlights that have become progressively dimmer overtime. Visibility at night is the equivalent of driving with parking lights on. Traveling on roads with higher speeds increases the risk as it's impossible not to overdrive your headlights. If it is raining at night, visibility is reduced to almost zero. After much research, it appears to be an ongoing problem for many owners of this make/model/yr. The entire headlamp housing needs to be recalled as it is defective, making the vehicle unsafe to operate.

The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights failed to operate correctly and were too dim to see the roadway. The vehicle was taken to waldorf Cadillac (2298 crain hwy, waldorf, md 20601, (301) 645-7000) where it was diagnosed that the headlights bulb connectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

After years of risking my life driving with headlights(low beams) dimmer than my turn signals, I gave up and bought some aftermarket housings. I read a little online, and some people said the the projector bowls burn up. After replacing these, I decided to open up the factory ones. When I got them opened, I found the projector bowl to be burnt up. It is ridiculous that GM/Cadillac won't recall them, even with so many reports of the dim low beams reported all over the internet(even on this NHTSA government website.) this needs to be investigated and action needs to be taken. It's not acceptable for people to just have to deal with either risk getting in a wreck, running their high beams 24/7 which is a safety concern for other drivers, or to shell out the money for aftermarket housings.

I have been complaining about the lights being too dim every since I purchased the car. I can hardly see at night, which is very dangerous and it needs to be corrected. My screen showing the information about the radio etc. Blacks out. It has been repaired, I was told but it continues to do so. I cannot end a call by pressing the button on the steering wheel. I have also complained about this numerous times. It also makes this weird noise when driving on the highway after a few hours but the dealership cannot seem to find the problem. I have been having all of these issues for quite some time. The lights need to be replaced at the manufactures expense, something needs to be done about the screen going black as I have been complaining about this for a couple of years now. The noise from the engine has to be coming from something but nobody seems to hear it when I take it in.

In the past months, we have noticed that it seemed our headlights did not seem like they were on when driving at night. We have gotten out of our car numerous times to check and make sure that the lights are actually on. Most recently when driving on a two lane road, the headlights seemed to flash and then make a number of flashing on and off movements. Being that this was a road with no other lighting and our bright lights did not come on, it was very dangerous. I could not see ahead of me and it was raining. There were cars behind me and I couldn't see the road ahead of me. My husband talked to a mechanic and he said that there has been other Cadillac owners with headlight issues. This needs to be addressed as it could cause a serious accident.

The front headlights are very dim where it looks like the lights are off when I am driving at night. I must turn on the bright lights to see normally at night when we drive. I received a recall notice to have lights replaced after we pay $800 a piece at Cadillac dealer. I was ill and could not take the car in to have the issue corrected. After my surgery and my recovery time I called the Cadillac dealer and was told that the recall notice had expired and they could not honor it! I believe this is a very dangerous problem and it should be fixed free of charge with no time restraints..

The low beam head lights are dim making the car a safety issue to drive at night. There has been a class action lawsuit filed against GM and GM lost. GM indicates there is a problem but will not fix the issue. The dealership want $2200 to fix the problem with the same parts that that are causing the problem.

Dim headlights have become increasingly dim to the point I can hardly see the road at night. I don't have the moisture that others have reported. I have researched more about this online and found that the dimming is caused by the heat of the halogen bulbs deteriorating the reflective material in the head light housing. Specifically the hella projection capsule used for the low beam. This deterioration is a slow process and goes unnoticed until finally it becomes to obvious to ignore. This is an ongoing issue reported by thousands of people. This is a defective part that GM refuses to acknowledge. When I talked the my local Cadillac dealer they pretend to be oblivious about this problem.

We purchased a 2015 Srx Cadillac Monday Dec 14 2020. We had not driven it after dark until we purchased. The headlights are so dim we could barely see the road in a well lit highway. We were concerned we would not make it home. These lights are a hazard and it's very dangerous to drive after dark. Something needs to be done before someone gets killed.

The lights are so dim, I am unable to drive at night. Reading through the internet, it is a very common issue with the headlights in my make/model/year vehicle. It costs $2,000 to fix headlights, which is outrageous, when Cadillac is aware of the issues and safety hazards! my lights are constantly dim and look as though my headlights are not even on at night. I do not feel safe driving my car at night, and due to covid, who has $2,000 to fix a problem that all of these vehicles are having and that Cadillac already knows about.
