I complained about the screeching noise to my husband. I was worried that the brakes were needing repaired. There were no indications of such just the screeching noise when I drove. He checked it and said they didn’t need replaced. This month he made an announcement that the brakes need checked so he was making an appointment with the Caddy dealer. We took in our vehicle and lo and behold we need to have the REAR brake pads replaced and the rotors turned. They said the front brakes were ok.

We do not tow and never have with this car. I drive very little but of course I was told by the dealer and my husband that I must be hard on the brakes for the rear brakes to need repaired. My question to vehicle car people is how can the back brakes go out first and need rotors turned and the front brakes be ok? I think there was always a problem with the back brakes and they were either locking up making the screeching sound and dragging or there is a manufacturer defect in the brake assembly.

I have been through manufacturer defects before with Ford and believe me they never owned up but finally paid for half of the final repair. These vehicles are made to be smooth but I have not had a smooth experience in this vehicle. My brake foot does not indicate I want to stop with the back brakes either.
