Case #: [XXX] ] I have a 2016 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) that I have owned for 8 years. Throughout this period, I have encountered some minor issues that were easily remedied. On [XXX], I started my car and some warning light came on. -??The ABS light -??The power steering light -??The anti-skid traction light I contacted Scranton Motors in Vernon, CT and was told I had a faulty brake module: part number 20842710. Furthermore, I was told that this part number has been discontinued and no longer available. I contacted Cadillac customer care and spoke to customer service rep Alegra 866-790-5600 at extension 5918222 and she gave me a list of suppliers who may have this part. Again, I was told that this part was discontinued. The parts department had to go to the aftermarket to see if they could locate this part. It was found on eBay. I was told that the part could be installed but there is NO guarantee that it would work. I was left with no choice but to have the part installed knowing that I would be driving an unsafe vehicle that could malfunction at any time. As stated earlier this vehicle is about 8 years and what I do not understand is why Cadillac would stop production on such a critical part that could cause physical harm to its passengers. In doing some investigating I found the Cadillac Forum in which other owners experience the same problem. I have owned 4 Cadillacs over the last 9 years and for the most part I have been very happy with their performance. It appears to me that Cadillac should take some responsibility and compensate me for not producing a safe vehicle to drive. The trade in value according to Kelley Blue. Book is $14,000 and therefore, I should be reimbursed accordingly On December 12, 2024, I received a phone call from Scranton Motors advising me that the part that they had received from eBay did not work. Therefore, I cannot operate this vehicle and it is totally useless. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated while driving at 10mph and approaching a stop sign, the contact depressed on the brake pedal but the vehicle did not stop which caused the contact to crash into the rear-end of the vehicle in front. The air bags did not deploy. There was no warning light illuminated. There was no medical treatment needed at the scene, however, the driver in the other vehicle reached out to an attorney the day after the accident to state they were hurt. A police report was filed. The vehicle was damaged where both the front driver and passenger headlight and finder were crushed in. However, the contact was able to continue to drive after the accident to their residence. The contact took the vehicle to an auto body shop to have an estimate on the damage on the vehicle, however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 67,000.

On lights they are very dim, makeing it a rist to drive at night, safty. On brake makes a squeel when applying, had it in to service several times, they say nothing is wrongwith it. Cadalics should not make noise like that makes poeple look at car like somethings wrong with it, which it is.

I was sitting at a traffic light stationary on a city street with a steep hill. I had my foot on the break waiting for the light to turn green. My breaks started to vibrate and then went out completely and I rolled back into the car behind me.

My car was in line for a car wash at val ward Cadillac parking lot. My electronic brake was on. The brake light on the dashboard indicated this. The car was in drive but stationary for approx two minutes. The car suddenly surged forward. I thought my car was hit in the back. I didn't understand why the car surged forward. My car hit the car in front of me. After the accident, the cars were separated by val ward personnel. They had to release my electronic brake in order to move my car. Per Cadillac, if electronic brake is engaged, it will release when gas pedal pressure is applied. My feet were on the floor of car when surge occurred. I did not touch the gas pedal. Conveniently, the accident occurred right in front of the val ward Cadillac body shop office. As far as I know the car was not towed, but pushed into repair shop. I will never use that electronic brake again. This should be a warning to electronic brake users. 7 mph listed below is a guess, as I went from stopped in line to surging forward. Mileage listed is approximate as Cadillac service records 9 days prior reflect 11,134 mi.
