This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Cadillac dealer.
Seemed very dangerous to be driving a vehicle which could experience brief unexpected power loss. Dealer unable to fix problem which had occurred repeatedly. Began GM vehicle repurchase procedure which was ultimately the solution. Changed to a Buick Envision instead. No problems with that vehicle.

This XT4 was in service for the last time for 37 consecutive days while the dealer worked on the transmission stuttering, power drop out (while driving) problem. It remained unfixed, and was evident with 5 miles of leaving the dealership. The transmission had been rebuilt (they would not replace it) and the torque converter was replaced. These repairs did not fix the problem. GM FINALLY REPURCHASED THE VEHICLE, and the owner changed to a Buick Envision instead. The owner had had a Buick Envision prior to this Cadillac XT4, liked it, had not had unusual problems with it. The replacement Buick Envision (made in China) has performed well.
