We just took delivery of a brand new 2019 XT5 and were driving on the highway homeward. Less than 5 miles from the dealership, check engine light came on and the car lost acceleration. Then more warning lights came on and the parking brake (something) light came on. We exited off the highway, came to a stop at a stop sign and the car would not go into ANY gear. We turned the car off and then back on, same issue. Called the dealer, the sales lady came to pick us up and they sent a tow truck for the car. Next morning we refused to take delivery of the vehicle and asked for another one.
The dealership provided a loaner. We had the 2017 XT5 loaner over the weekend in the garage. Monday morning, we took the loaner back to pick up the replacement new 2019 XT5. The 2017 did the EXACT SAME THING as we pulled off the highway; warning lights came on, lost acceleration. Luckily we did not stop and pulled directly into the service bay. The service manager said he had never seen such a thing. The story is the original 2019 was towed to the dealership, brought into the service bay and it worked just fine, with no problems shown on the computer.
