The ABS light, traction control light and engine light come on, sometimes all together and sometimes individually or 2 at a time. No rhyme or reason.
When ABS and or traction control lights are on and I shift into drive or reverse there is a loud, very heavy clunk, it feels like the transmission is falling out. If I am stopped and push the gas pedal to go there is a clunk and it feels like the transmission is falling out. I am used to it now so I push the gas pedal gently to get going. When shifting into gear I make sure that I press hard on the brake and as gently as I can shift into drive or reverse. When driving in the winter I give myself lots of space between vehicles and lots of time to stop as I am extremely fearful of an accident, I don't know if the problem with these lights will cause a braking problem.
I have had the codes checked at different times and they come up different every time. I have repaired so many problems with this care I have truly lost count and I have had this car for about 3 years. I bought it used, I obviously did not do my homework.
People tell me the car looks great, I tell them to never purchase a Chevy Cobalt! The color tells the story, lemon yellow.
