This is the second time my AC has done this. I just took it in for a recall on the AC blower system and Henderson Chevrolet says this is not a covered issue, just the resistor replacement for the blower speed was covered in the recall. Why isn't Chevy also taking care of this at the same time? It sounds like a pretty common problem. I was in Phoenix Az when my air started blowing hot. Thanks--117 degrees and I got hot air. I do not have the auto button just the manual dual zone control. Does anyone have any solution? IO have turned the truck on and off and tried multiple setting positions...

This is a real irritant and the snow is coming-the dealerships are vague and not enthusiastic on fixing it and the quotes are from $700-$1500. Does anyone have a certain solution? I wonder why the Asians can make a reliable system and we in NA cannot. I am losing my faith in the NA auto industry. Jim

I have this problem one time a day , blows hot air in driver side. When the AC is working and I drive my truck down the road and turn off the motor, then wait for 30 seconds, turn the motor on & continue my way there is no problem. I want this fixed.

The AC blows hot air on the driver side and cool on the passenger. It came and went. Had repairs done for the compressor and evacuator/drier replaced but same problem. when it works it works good but doesn't blow enough. Today it got stuck on hot air on driver side. Took it back in. Have to wait and see what happens.

Avalanche Z66 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,500 miles

Right side of vehicle was pumping out pure hot air while the left side was putting out cold. This happened early on once before right after I bought the truck new and I turned the ignition off and restated the truck and it returned to normal operation. It happened again recently and doing the same thing did not fix it. It continued to do it for several days. Eventually on it's own it returned to normal operation. Both times it happened it was when someone ran one temp selector to one extreme and the other one to the other extreme

Avalanche 1500 V8

  • Automatic transmission

The problem right now is on the passenger side. Hot air is blowing out of the passenger air vents while cool air is blowing out of the driver's side. Originally this occurred on the driver's air vents. After shutting off the engine and restarting, the A/C worked fine. About a month or so later the problem reoccurred on the passenger's side and still continues to blow hot air.

I think it may be a software problem because after I shut of the engine it worked fine on the driver's side.

Has anyone got a fix for this,it seems that Chevrolet would step up to the plate and fix this issue on one of their Top-Notch Trucks. This problem just started for me but it seems to have had along track record.

Avalanche LX V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The driver side ac/heater vent blows hot air (very hot) on the driver side only whether the heater/ac is turned off or not. I had this problem ever since I bought the truck and dealers mechanic could not find anything wrong everytime I take it in for service. I even bought the extended warranty and now the warranty has expired and the problem is still there. They charged me $80.00 dollars to isolate the problem. The dealers mechanic think it is the actuator and want to charge me over $500.00 dollars to change it but they are not sure that it would fix the problem. They should recall this vehicle and fix the problem because it is becoming to be a "health hazard" especially during summer when the temperature outside is really hot and you have air that is blowing really hot air. Are there any good Chevy mechanics out there who could figure this problem out?????You have some manufacturers defect here.

The drivers side blows hot air when the air is on. Called the dealership they said more than not that I just need to have a upgrade done and that should take care of the problem. WELL it did not. We still have the same problem so now they are saying we need to replace some kind of door about $250.00 more.
