after my first complaint, I was going shopping, got out , locked my doors and my back doors didn't lock. I could manually lock them, I could unlock them with the remote but would not remotely or using the driver controls lock back. I had it checked out, I was told that some switch or motor went out and would cost $300 plus to replace it, so I just disconnected the back door locks and decided to just manually lock and unlock since I seldom use the back seat except for my dog and she can jump through. so a couple of months later, the passenger front has started doing the same, just hasn't totally died yet. it would not be a big deal but I do a lot of running around by myself and it is not safe to not be able to lock your doors.. any suggestions??

My back door power locks stopped working. More specifically, they do not lock by either the front control or key fob. They will only lock manually. However, they do unlock by the key fob or front control. I took it into Carr Chevy and they said the actuators were worn out and needed to be replaced. The cost was around $350 an actuator plus labor ! Really, what's the odds that both will go out at the exact same time? I choose not to fix it in part I do not trust the diagnostics and second was the insane cost for the actuators
Since then with a little online research I found that a company called Doorman, makes these actuators and the over counter cost s about $38. Nearly a 1/10th of Chevy's price. I did a little research on Doorman and apparently they specialize in design improved aftermarket parts. Friends in the heavy truck parts industry claim their parts are usually better than OE. Looks to be a weekend fix it project, assuming the dealer's diagnosis was correct
