Service air bag showed up on my instrument cluster. The code reader shows code B0020-0D, passenger instrument panel air bag deployment loop stage 2 short to battery. The warning has been intermittent for years and then here recently the warning became a steady illumination. When this issue first started it didn't matter if I was moving or or stationary. Now the warning does not go off. I am not 100% positive if the takata recall is what is affecting my air bag but according to the recall it is the passenger side front air bag. Currently my vehicle falls under manufacturer recall number 2049151 and NHTSA recall number 16V381. The recall is currently incomplete, and a remedy is not yet available. I live in Texas so as the the ambient temperature increased the air bag issue became worse.

Received safety recall letter dated July 2016 for takata airbags but everytime that I contact multiple Chevy dealers they say that GM has not released this recall and is still arguing with NHTSA about the need for the recall. Meanwhile I am driving a vehicle that could kill me. It is fairly simple, either the airbags are the same defective technology as the ones recalled or not. Force them to get on with the recall repairs. I did contact my us repr phil roe's office on this matter and he suggested filing this complaint with NHTSA.
