Checked with local dealer and was told that they won't be receiving any for my vehicle. The airbag light came on recently for no reason and went away the next time I started the vehicle.

The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that the parts were unavailable and they could not confirm when the parts would become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Service representative at serra Chevrolet stated that they did not have the necessary replacements and toke my information to contact when the parts become available. No notification has been received since the initial disclosure was made over 4 years ago. Did return to the dealership around six months after my initial visit and was told the same information that the required parts have not been received.

The dashboard is cracked around the passenger side airbag. This presents a hazard as shards of plastic could become projectiles if the airbag is deployed. Nothing happened to cause the cracked dash, it seems to be a normal problem with these vehicles and it's creating a hazard.
