Avalanche LT 5.3L V8

VERY DISAPPOINTED. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE , TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. I HAVE READ NU,EROUS COMPLAINTS AND SEE THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH GM, AND DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ALL OUT CLASS ACTION ON THIS..... REALLY PISSED

Avalanche LTZ Z71 5.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 102,000 miles

I bought my 2007 in 2009 and replaced the transmission in 2011 w/ 102,000 miles and with the same model tranny. Here it is 5yrs and 105,000 miles on replaced tranny and it is failing. I hate I didn't know to look up vehicle problems and complaints before I bought one. I have a 98 F250 w/ 352,000 and never has an engine or tranny problem. I will have to see what's out there and get something else but it won't be GM.

Avalanche LT 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,500 miles

I had transmission serviced 200 miles previous to failure. I have used mechanic for 25 years and trust him. He says when serviced his mechanic overfilled transmission slightly, but not enough to damage it. He found the TSB. If Chevrolet has known about this problems : OD & 3rd gear failure; 1st & 2nd & R still working, then they should cover the damages.

What's the deal! I bought this vehicle from a chevy salesman that had it maintained at the dealership he worked for. I've only owned it for a year and a half! Seriously! I'm questioning my loyalty to GM. I've had to replace three GM transmissions in the past 5 years.

Avalanche LTZ 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,342 miles

I HAD PREVENTATIVE MAINTANANCE DONE (TRANSMISSION SERVICE WITH SYNTHETIC OIL) AT 72,721 MILES (5621MILES AGO). I HAD THE DIFFERENTIAL FLUID DONE AT THE SAME TIME AND IT'S BEEN IN THERE 3 TIMES SINCE FOR A HIGH PITCHED WHINE AT 40 MPH AND ABOVE. THEY SAY THEY FIXED THAT AND HAVEN'T YET. WELL THE TRANNY'S BLOWN, THE REAR END WHINES AND I DON'T HAVE A VEHICLE. IS THAT QUALITY CONTROL OR WHAT. OH AND THE DASH HAS 2 BIG CRACKS IN IT, BUT THAT'S NOTHING COMPARED TO THE TRANSMISSION AND REAR END. Other than that I love my truck, I'm 62 years old and I bought this to be my last vehicle that I owned. It was a certified pre-owned and had a warranty at the time, and I paid top dollar for it. I have taken it in for regular maintenance and have taken very good care of it. Seems that if they know they have a problem they should repair it at their expense not mine, I'm retired.

Avalanche LTZ 8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

I have had nothing but problems with this truck since it was purchased, most covered under warranty.

Last year transfer case needed to be rebuilt and this year transmission had to be replaced.

Keep in mind this vehicle has only 42,000 miles.

I contacted GM regarding this issue and my case manager was rude, non responsive.

Normally, I don't give up that easily, but I would rather suggest my company goes a different way other than GM.

My taste after this, is no more GM vehicles in my future.
