The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal. The vehicle failed to slow down. After several attempts, the vehicle came to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the vehicle was performing as normal. On a separate occasion, the rotors, brake pads, brake shoes, and brake drums were replaced. The failure mileage was 26,400 and current mileage was 64,500. Updated 10/16/08. The consumer stated the brakes wil stop the vehicle, but the traeel in the pedal was the issue. The brake pedal travelled almost 3 inches before the brakes even began to slow the vehicle down. The brakes would then slow the car. The consumer stated he had spoken to other dealers who stated the issue was between the brake pedal and the brake booster. Updated 10/17/08.
