The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo. While driving various speeds with the cruise control engaged, it failed to shut off when the accelerator or brake pedals were depressed. In addition, when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle accelerated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,000.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the shifter cable tab fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
