We bought our 2007 Chevy Aveo brand new. We purchased the extended 5 year warranty. It expired June 30th 2012. End of Oct. 2012, our head gasket is blown and we have been estimated it will cost $2600 to fix. Our warranty expired 4 MONTHS ago. After much complaining, phone transfers, etc, I finally got GM to offer me a discount on repairs: they will pay 75% and I pay 25%. Which sounds great, but is still $650. I think it is atrocious that they will not honour our warranty after only 4 months, when it is for something as major as the head gasket. We maintained everything on our car well, there is no way a head gasket should blow on a 5 year old car with only 78 000km on it. The stress I have gone through to have to get GM to act on this is atrocious (apparently that's my word of the night!). I will never, ever buy a GM car again.
