My air bag light came on, and has stayed on. I'm a person that lives paycheck to paycheck. After reading all the other people that are experiencing this issue as well, it just baffles me that it hasn't been recalled. There is no way I could afford a $700 fix.
I have instead emailed Chevy about the issue with links to other complaints. I suggest we all email them. This is something that needs to be fixed! It's a safety issue where people are risking their lives.
I also emailed our local news stations trouble shooter. Hopefully with enough people contacting Chevy and their local news channels we can get something done about this.

The warning light indicating that the airbags arent working will not shut off. Dealer cant fix it and offers no solution. It has been in the shop 3x to no avail. Either they cant duplicate it or they fix it but then 2 days later it comes back on. I drive it back to the dealer, show them and there's no solution. I finally gave up and continue to drive my vehicle with no airbags. I hope GM has its liability insurance policy paid up.

Haven't figure out if I can disconnect it or if my air bag will just deploy at some point still researching it. Seems like a spring surrounded by ceramic would last a little long but... don't see it in the replace at interval list.
