airbag didn’t deploy airbag didn’t deploy

Bought my 2007 Chevy aveo lt in October of 2024 never had any issues besides a coolant leak which was eventually fixed. never had any dash lights not even an engine light. In February of 2025 I had a pretty serious accident in my car. My airbags didn’t deploy at all me and my passenger both slammed our knees into the dash as a result of that. Thankfully that was the only injury in this accident. The crazy thing is no dashlight ever came on to tell me my airbag was faulty not once. Side note the car crumped like a tin can I was maybe going 25-30 km an hour maybe even a little faster but definitely around that speed at the time of impact.

Would I recommend this car to anyone absolutely not because 1. The car crumples like a tin can at lower speeds and 2. The airbags don’t deploy in serious accidents. There has been many other accidents in one of these cars that I’ve heard of that were far worst then mine (ie front end was crumpled all the way to the firewall) and their airbags didn’t deploy either with no sign of them being defective (no airbag light on). These cars are not safe at all please do not buy them for your kids they are practically death traps in the event of a crash! Yes they are very cheap on gas and fuel efficient but if you’re looking for a first car for you or your child buy anything but this car they are not safe.
