The door handle & lock are held in by two (2) 6mm x 10mm bolts. One secures the handle to the door towards the front; the other secures the lock & handle to the door towards the rear. This bolt fell out and disappeared. I applied masking tape to the painted surfaces of the door around the door panel, removed the panel (using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, putty knife, & window regulator clip tool) to access the handle, removed the handle & lock to determine how to repair. After obtaining a replacement bolt, I applied thread locking compound to both bolts to ensure they wouldn't vibrate loose again, & reassembled the door.
Parts removed/reinstalled: Door panel, rear view mirror panel, door handle, lock, an oval steel plate of unknown purpose, door latch rod, door lock rod.
Parts replaced: One (1) 6mm x 10mm bolt.
Materials used: Masking tape, Loctite (tm) 242 thread locking compound.
Note that the repair cost I gave included the value of my time; the correct replacement bolt, should you need one, is less than $3 at any auto parts store.
Gripe: If the chintzy SOB's that built this "Chevy" had used some sort of thread locking device or compound, this would never have happened. I seriously doubt the added weight of such would have any detrimental effect on the finished product. Both Daewoo (the manufacturer) and General Motors (the seller) know better. Shame on them.

I am not that mechanically savvy-so this was such a pain to fix. Figuring out exactly how the door panel came off so I could put the door lock back in place was the worst. Once the door panel was off I used lock-tight on the screw-though I am not sure how most people do this because I have small hands and it was difficult for me. I had to get a special tool to get the window roller off which was about $7. I already had the lock-tight so I didn't have to buy that. 2 hours and a LOT of frustration later-I fixed it.
