Driving on Jersey Turnpike. Everything was fine, had the oil changed 2 weeks earlier. No warning, suddenly lost power. Sh*t did not engage. Coasted to the exit. At stop there was some fire. Hat the car towed to a chevy dealer. He never saw anything like this Engine mount was busted, engine sinking on one side. transmission not mounted and broke. Flywheel broke, parts of engine, clutch, battery broken off.
There was still full oil in the engine.
Car had to be junked for nothing.
I never had a problem before, everything was fine. No bump, no noise, no warning of any kind.
The car had less than 50000 miles, suddenly completely gone.
Very, very unhappy. Dealer said that sequence of events not obvious. The guess is that it started with the motor mount, but there sure was some structural problem. Somehow I expected that there would be no structural problem at a car that had never been abused and had less than 50000 miles
