My mother was in an accident on June 9, 2009. Her car landed in oncoming traffic and she was hit again by a truck. She died as a result of catastrophic injuries on June 11, 2009.
In spite if being hit in the front, side and rear her air bags did not deploy. She sustained numerous injuries that the air bags could have limited. She sustained a broken neck, broken back, broken wrists, broken pelvis, broken leg, broken ribs and chest injury.
I am not sure if her ignition cut off on it's own or not. She would have been left totally helpless in oncoming traffic with no way to get out of the way. WHY did the air bags not deploy? A small car must have the confidence of this protection. WHY??????????
