After two years use of the now five-year-old-car, the engine will badly misfire, usually after 20+ miles driving. It can drag the speed down from 60 to 15mph as I work down the gears trying to keep going. Yet I find if I take my foot off the pedal and reapply, it will give one burst of power and die again. To climb hills I've had to repeatedly pump the pedal to get up. Then after a few minutes it clears and I go along normally till 20 miles or so later when it happens again. Two garages, one a diagnostics specialist, have seen it repeatedly but cannot find any problem! My only solution is going to be to sell the car.
