Aveo

I was pulling S onto hwy 515 from hwy 382 in ellijay, ga when a car hit my drivers side passenger door. On impact, my seat belt buckle broke releasing me into the vehicle causing multiple injuries. I was taken to piedmont mountainside hospital. I had rib fractures; chest wall contusion; severe cervical and lumbar spine sprain'severe whiplash; and left hand laceration. I was prescribed narcotic pain med; muscle spasm med; med for inflammation. Next went to kaiser urgent care for severe back spasms. Muscle spasm med changed to stronger med; again next week changed again. Mom had to come from tn; to stay with me so my husband could work; I couldn't get up and down myself & had to sleep in recliner downstairs in my living room for 3 months. When swelling finally reduced mri showed no spinal fluid from C5-C7 discs; surgery scheduled for May 28 for Fusion. May 1, my husband was fired from his job; separation notice stated 'released without prejudice' we no longer had medical insurance; but got it from marriott at cost immediately and had disc Fusion on May 28; still in physical therapy. On medical leave of absence Mar 3-July 28; my position at marriott had to be filled I had to await another position, apply for unemployment. GM would not discuss this defective seat belt issue because the car was totaled and I no longer had it. I tried contacting an attorney, but they did not take my injuries seriously and even though I gave them the exact location of the vehicle and they agreed to do an investigation they did nothing and my car was sold from co-part. My main concern is that anyone who still has a Chevrolet Aveo know that this happened. Allstate and I have pictures of the damaged seat belt. I have finally recovered enough to go back to work. My greatest fear is that another seat belt buckle in another Chevrolet Aveo could break and someone could get killed.
