I am having trouble with the ABS on my Blazer. They fail to stop my Blazer completely when I come to a stop on a loose surface. They also fail sometimes on dry surfaces such as asphalt. I have taken my Blazer in twice for recalls on the ABS and neither of the recalls has remedied my problem. I would like to know what my options are for getting rid of this vehicle. I feel that I am at risk every time I drive it. Please let me know. Thanks, phil long

Problem is with braking system. Intermittent brake failure which has turned in to be a major safety issue. GM is not cooperating stating they have no idea what the problem is, accept that they have been able to duplicate the problem. They failed to have a sensor on the vehicle when duplicated and told us there is nothing that they can do. We have been without use of the vehicle for two months since it is unsafe to drive. We've been advised to wait for a potential recall but have not been told when that might be. In the mean time GM is being highly uncooperative and fail to acknowledge any pending recall. I have researched this and have found that they are facing a potential 3.5 million vehicle recall for my vehicle's specific problem. Can you please give me any advise on this?

I have been plagued with constant brake problems on my '95 Blazer. It has been in the shop since I purchased it over 10 times for the brakes alone. I recently heard about the brake recall warning issued by you (NHTSA) and immediately called ed morse Chevrolet and spoke with a service manager. He advised me your report was false and you are re-issuing a statement to the contrary. He told me the warning had "nothing to do with my particular Blazer" and that I would not be included in any recall or warning presently. My brakes have been a nightmare for me, I am afraid of braking system, but have no choice but to drive the vehicle. I had my attorney write a letter to ed morse, to no avail. I finally went to an outside mechanic who attempts to keep me safe by regularly checking my braking system. What I would like to know is am I included in this recall alert 99V193000 or NHTSA campaign number 991006000? any help that you can give me will be so appreciated. Thank you..francesca bealert

Since the vehicle was purchased the brakes have been "soft". the brake system and pads have been found to be O.K.. in December the brakes failed and a collision occured. My mechanic feels the brake failure is due to a faulty ABS. I heard on my local news station there had been a recall on the ABS in my vehicle. I contacted my dealer, but they said there had not been a recall. I would like any info on the recall or class action suit.

I have reported this vehicle in the past to Chevrolet and NHTSA. Several problems with the braking system, ABS are the major complaints and also the power locking system for the doors. After an accident in December 1997, due to faulty brakes and ABS not stopping the vehicle the dealer said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. Then he made repairs to the braking system where the dealer said he replaced the rotors and the brakes in January of 1998. Even after he made these repairs the brakes and the ABS was still not working I returned to the dealer and he said there still was nothing wrong until it happened when I had the repair manager in the truck with me. Mr. Wallace of warnock Chevrolet of morristown New Jersey siad then that he was 110 percent sure there was something wrong. This is after the fact of the many attempts prior to trying to get them to fix this problem before the accident of December 1997 occurred. In July of 1998 after several months of having problems I went to another dealer who told me that the same repairs had to be done. He also said I needed a tune up, which I only had in may of 1997 by warnock. This truck has had numerous complaints on the the ABS and the braking system, and power door locks not operating correctly. I think it is about time the government did something before someone gets killed. I also believe warnock Chevrolet is a disreputable dealership. I demand an investigation. Work on this vehicle for the brakes has occurred 3 times in its vehicle history.

Besides the previous two accidents I just reported, I had an accident last week again involving failure of my brakes on route 46. I was going about 15 mphin heavy traffic and went in to the back of a truck because of total brake failure.....pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes at all. I had a previous record of no accidents in 28 years and I am upset to learn there have been many cases of failure of brakes in Chevy trucks.
