Egr valve replaced. Cost over $400. Chevy only recalled 96 or newer and there has been over 60 complaints logged about this. When is there going to be a recall on the egr valve. I now need to replace it again. I have also complained to Chevy regarding my brakes. I have had to replace my brakes every 6 months since I bought my car. The dealer told me brakes are not covered under warranty, that it is normal wear and tear of the vehicle. I have also been having problems with the fuel injection system. Other year vehicle have recalled these problems but not for the 1995 Blazer.

Initially replaced egr valve in 1998, have replaced it 4 additional times (by Chevy dealer) within two years. Build-up of carbon in the engine causing stalling, shaking and failure of engine in traffic. Brakes tend to stick as well. Erroneously charged for two fuel injectors that were not needed due to misdiagnosis of problem. Car has sat for last 3 weeks while attempting to contact Chevy customer service at hq, was given promises of refunds, call backs and have not heard from anyone. Looked at this site and saw other owners with same problem, possible recall but we were not notified by the dealer or Chevrolet. In addition both rear seat belts stopped working nearly two years ago where our young son often sits. Seeking possible legal action for reimbursement, replacement of vehicle or final repair of defects.

Egr valve failed once at 54052 miles. Owner paid for repair. A few months later Chevrolet issued a recall for egr valve and reimbursed owner for cost of repair. 17719 miles later, at 71771 miles the egr valve failed again. Dealer and manufacturer both refused to accept any responsibility for installation of a faulty part, claims they have fulfilled their responsibility of recall. Anti-locking brake S ystem has failed, ABS light on dash illuminated while driving. Dealer inspects and states electronic brake control module has failed. A $1,600 repair is expected. Owner complains and has questions regarding performance of entire braking system. Owner had expressed problems and concerns with brakes while vehicle was still under warranty, dealer ignored complaints stating problems were "the nature of the beast". brake problems include, new pads at 25000 mile intervals, second set of rotors at 70722 miles, hard and stiff brake pedal, soft or slow response of brakes to pedal pressure, delayed response of brakes, ABS system engaging at inappropriate conditions. While vehicle was under warranty dealer did not address complaints or problems, now dealer and manufacturer claim vehicle is too old and with too many miles for them to consider any responsibility. Dealer claims there are no safety issues involved with braking system failures and poor performance.

Whenever ABS brakes were applied vehicle would fail to stop. Had rearended several vehicles due to lack of braking ability. Also, excessive wear on brake pads/shoes. They would be changed every 20,000 miles. ABS would kick in every time brakes were applied. This caused vehicle to be hard to stop. Brakes were repaired under recall. Have taken to mechanic & informed it was driver's problem.
