When the blazers is cold we can drive about 12 miles. Then as we are driving down the highway the blazer looses power and when you press down on the gas peddle, it really losses power more. So you have to ease up on the gas peddle so you won't loose total power. at this point your only going 20 mhr and have to pull of the road, shut of the veh. let it sit for awhile then after a few min restart the blazer then she will be good for another 5 or 6 miles and if your lucky another 8 miles then have to pull off the road and do it all again. going up a hill forget it, it won't make it with out pulling over and sitting for awhile. anyone else had or has this problem any suggestions on how to fix it????

I got a 1997 Chevy Blazer with a 4.3L V6. Engine light comes on after driving for a few miles and the truck loses power. If I drive it for a few more miles it shuts completely off. Engine will start again in 3-5 minutes and run for a few more miles before losing power and dying again. When its acting up if you give it gas it makes it lose power. Any suggestions?
