My mechanic said that the door latch can break because of the door hinges or something like that because the door does not close easily and you can see where there is damage to the latch on the door jam.

Both the driver side door and front passenger side doors, door bushings went out, causing the doors to droop and cause damage to the frame latch...attempt to fix the problem was unsuccessful. The bushings need replaced and welding work needs to be done on the frame.
