The famous P0410 error code. Now I should be able to tell you everything that you need to know about this error code... now the reason why you would get this code is really quite simple this is what happens in the northeast, the pump shorts out because the water that naturally forms in the exhaust it will back feed pass the check valve now come winter the pump might have enough water in it for it to freeze stopping the pump. Now if the pump is in good shape as it will still turn after it thaws then we maybe almost in the clear. You will have to replace the 30 amp fuse because the pump will pull the max amps to try to make it self turn thus popping the fuse. The location of the fuse in on the passenger side under the hood right next to the horn and the battery inside the fender well its not really hard finding this fuse its in a black plastic thing that's literally attached to the same metal plate that the battery sits on.
Oh and as for the location for the pump, the plastic piece that covers your oil filter if you were to take that off (don't be shy there's only 6 bolts) you're looking for a black rubber bulb that for me anyways was soft to the touch. THAT is your pump and the plastic flatish round thingy that is your check valve
If I missed anything or you have any questions let me know. On a 99 Chevy blazer I can just about share my knowledge on about anything about the vehicle so don't be shy my email is linkin_park12927@yahoo.com and what I don't know I can find out... don't be shy now
now heres what your looking at for parts:
the air pump(smog pump) - somewhere 95 to 130 bucks depending on were you go
the check valve - around 20 bucks
and if you read the statement that ACDelco sent out they recommend that you change the hoses as well if i remember right
and by a garage as my mother did it cost her over 530 bucks to fix by the dealer...
