Went outside and noticed that my cute little blazer decided to pee antifreeze all over the driveway. Previous to this, my wonderful wife had just returned from a short errand. She mentioned that just as she entered our neighborhood, the A/C started blowing hot air, the check engine light came on and the engine temp was all the way to the right! Just thought that I would like to know, she said. Man, I love that woman!

So here's what I'm thinking; That the heater core is the cause of the problem. That's my hunch. I will update this posting after the said problem is fixed.

Update from Jun 6, 2009: I for some reason suspected the heater core to be the problem because its never quite worked properly. Other posts on here stated similar problems associated with said part, so I had bypassed it the engine still overheated. Next, a friend suggested that the thermostat was stuck shut. So $10 later and after a simple switch out the engine ran without a hitch. Problem solved

Update from Jul 1, 2009: Well, I replaced the thermostat. That fixed it for like 3 weeks, now it's overheating again, except this time the engine losses power and sputters. Of course this only happens during the heat of the day. I have to turn off the A/C, that does bring the temp down a little. Today I had the system flushed and that seemed to work for 20 minutes until my sexy wife took the car out for an errand to buy shampoo.

Update from Jul 7, 2009: I live in the desert and when I first moved here I remember how loud my car used to get. Like a lyon roaring! RRRrooar! Anyways, I just realized that for the past few hot months I have not heard that sound. I know its annoying, but that its design. So I had it checked out today and sure enough the FAN CLUTCH was bad. The part was $100 and I paid the mechanic one hours worth of labor to switch it out. Oh justa FYI; I sat there and watched the guy working and as he pulled off the fan shroud, he pointed out how plugged up my radiator fins were with bugs, weeds, hHAIR?! and just a bunch of crap. He did his best blowing it out with an air compressor

What a lousy made car. This is the worse auto I have ever owned. problem after problem after problem. I will never own a GMC product again. I spen more on theis new Blazer than I did on my 1989 Blazer with 165000 miles!!!!
