Blazer 4.3L Vortec

SOMEONE FILLED MY TANK WITH WATER AND I HAD THE WHOLE SYSTEM CLEANED AND FLUSHED. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER THAT THE TRUCK ACTED FUNNY ONE DAY....UNTIL LAST WEEK.....I WAS DRIVING IN LIKE 95 DEGREE WEATHER AND WHEN I DROVE THE TRUCK FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR I LOST FUEL AND THEN THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF....IT STARTED BACK UP EVERY TIME BUT EVERY 100 FEET OR SO IT LOSES POWER AND EVENTUALLY CUTS OFF.....

I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG....I WAS TOLD FUEL PUMP,CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,AND COIL.....DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS OF WHATS WRONG?????

Blazer 4.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

This car has multiple electrical flaws - it is by far the worst SUV year they made !!!!!! Fortunately, I bought the extended warranty package and I have used that to the fullest- of course now that it's expired I'm SOL - still cheaper than another somebody's trouble to inherit -a sad commentary on GM.

Lets see, the wipers short out, 4 wheel drive hub assemblies that "fell apart",short in fuel pump - had to drop the gas tank twice to fix that- gauge won't ever work right again - can't let the gauge EVER go below 1/4 tank or it will just die somewhere along the road - drivers door hinge pin fell out one day - bad design to have water running through there all the time -rear wiper works when it wants to, replaced heater resistor and blower motor, replaced radiator - shh- we don't want to talk about bigger things.

Blazer LT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

Yes, my fuel gauge is also faulty. It was working fine for me up to around 70,000miles and then one day I totally ran outta gas on the freeway at ~10pm. I call triple A service to bring me a gallon of gas... of course my gas gauge was stuck on "FULL" and remains to be stuck on full two years later. The dealership in San Jose, Ca claims it is a frequent problem but not enough to have a recall... they wanted +$900 to fix it. I told them forget it and I will drive using the trip odometer along with every other unfortunate person that had bought a Chevy blazer. I orig paid $26000 on this Blazer when it was brand new... I will never buy a Chevy again, and feel hurt that such a common problem isn't fixed by them yet in later models.

A part that costs this much shouldn't go bad at 70,000 miles. I bought the piece of junk used three years ago and the gas gage didn't work then. it is no wonder Toyota is taking over... I know I don't ever want to own another Chevy.

Blazer LS 4.3

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

I will NEVER buy a chevy again. Did I say NEVER!!!!!!!!

Fuel gauge does not work for the last 2 years. Moody about starting, until I beat the crap out of the gas tank while someone is turning it over, kinda what you call a manual jump start of the fuel pump. Now it won't start at all. It's like there is a weekly attachment on my wages for the front end alone for this POS. (Child support for quads would be cheaper). I also own a 2004 Colorado. Wrote to Chevy about problems with that. Etc, etc, etc. I don't even want to waste my time typing anymore. My ball joints are getting sore.

MOVING FORWARD........ TOYOTA

The first time it happened was about 6mos after we got the car- it used to start up again after about 30 minutes, but now will not and has to be towed. Has been fixed twice but still has problem. have been stranded in unsavory neighborhood with 2 small children and a dog in 98 degree heat, on the side of the interstate etc. this is not funny and scary. Will not drive car anymore and use my 10 yr old VW cabrio which has never died once!

This was the worst because the dealer could not find the problem right away because there was a short in the fuel pump and it could not be detected until it shorted completely so I had to be towed twice to the dealership
