gas gauge is inaccurate

The fuel Guage will always just say "Low Fuel" when it's not working. Sometimes when it does decide to work it will start from Empty and slowly make it's way up to what the gas tank actually has. I live in a small city so my car does all city on mpg, this helps me determine how much I can drive. Since it does 16 MPG in the city I can say I can drive around 288 miles on one (18 Gallon) tank. I just reset the trip on the odometer every time I fill the tank.

Well, when i purchased my blazer in November of 2011 I began driving it and after the first week or so i noticed that my gas gauge became very inaccurate at times. Just wondering if anyone knew the fix or any helpful advice to fix this incredibly annoying problem!!

Blazer LS

  • 68,000 miles

I purchased this with 35,000 miles and it was apparent shortly after. The gas gage is erratic and it would cost me a small fortune to replace the entire fuel pump but I never know how much gas is really in my vehicle at any specific time.. I was hoping to find a recall because my mechanic said that he sees this all the time on the blazers.
