The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. After a routine inspection, the contact noticed that her exterior brake lights were inoperative. The dealer stated that her VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 08V231000 (exterior lighting:brake lights:switch). The contact would be responsible for the repair costs. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current and failure mileages were 119,332. Updated 07/10/08. The hazard lights were inoperative. The consumer was informed his VIN was not included in the recall for the hazard warning light switch. Updated 07/08/08

No other lights were affected by the brake light failure. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The recall number was unknown. The mechanic stated that nothing was wrong. The contact located a safety recall, but the manufacturer stated that his VIN was not included. He believed that his vehicle should be included because it was experiencing the same failure. The recall number was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 50,000.

: the contact stated while driving behind this vehicle, it was noticed that the brake lights were inoperable. The vehicle was not inspected by the dealership. Updated 10/25/2006 - the brake light would not work unless the consumer holds/jiggles the hazard switch to the side.

The brake lights and hazard lights were not working, there was no recall but a service bulletin. It has been fixed twice, and currently consumer has to pay out of pocket to fix it. Called the dealership, they had no record. But went to mechanic shop, they had a record. Contacted GM, they also had it on record for the bulletin, and they contacted the dealer. This first happened about a week ago on July 10, 2005. Replaced the battery, but the brake lights and hazard lights did not work, checked the fuses, and went to repair shop the put in new switches and still did not.

While driving at any speed stop lamps and rear hazard lamps malfunctioned. Dealer indicated sorry this vehicle was not included in the recall. (recall number 01V-364)

Consumer started the vehicle and pressed the gas pedal but the vehicle did not move. The consumer applied pressure to the accelerator, and it took little while for the vehicle to start moving. The dealer inspected the vehicle three times and could not resolve the problem. The consumer stated the transmission made some noises, the dealer discovered some parts of the transmission were damaged, however days later the vehicle went back to not accelerating and the engine racing. The consumer was told that the manufacturer would extended the warranty on the transmission. The brake light was inoperative there was a clicking noise in the drivers seat.
