GM cant seem to wire worth a damn and circuitry is pathetic. The TCCM costs $500 brand new but if your smart you can get one off an auto wrecker for about $50. It's not so much that but it's the 40 wires you have to rewire after you put the new TCCM in. This would not be a problem if they weren't so cheap and lazy, The TCCM is located in side the cab of the vehicle. Yet some how always find a way to corrode from moisture,
The wires will literally rot away into thin air, leaving you with no 4x4 or stuck in 4x4. Simple to fix right in the factory really, just fill the connectors with dielectric grease. GM doesn't do that, and also the power supply for the TCCM doesn't have its own fuse in the fuse block. Instead it sucks its power from the interior lights, no interior lights means no 4x4. Plus no where in the manual or on the vehicle does it tell you this!!! You can pull 4x4 fuses all day long and it will make no difference!!!
