Blazer

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,600 miles

Car has18600 miles and developed a shift to park problem. According to problems with this car it was sold knowing the problem would occur. I called gm and they basically don't want to know anything, even though many cars have had this problem. They won't do a recall or help to get this problem fixed when people have said they have gotten it fixed and the problem is reoccurring. its not a cheap fix. very disappointed with the chevy blazer and GM

The issue is the Blazer will not turn off after it is parked. It believes it isn't in park. So I would have to turn on the car, turn it off, shift through the gears for the "car not in park" message to continuously appear. After at least 6 times of going through the same motion, it would finally let you turn off the car. Took it to Ted Britt for service and the rep was very angry due to the fact his coworkers called in and he was the only one there saying he couldn't do anything without warranty information. Thank God we scheduled an appointment online so he didn't have a choice but to take the car and we had to wait 2 days for our assigned service rep to call us back. They said it would cost us over $600 and add several other things on for us to "fix" which totaled to be over $800.

Contact customer service and provided the above information and the dealership wanting $620.15 to fix the issue with the information we found provided online. GM CS said there wasn't anything they can do and didn't see anything posted at all for 2019 blazer. Obviously didn't read the links that was posted and proceed to ask me what all it was about so I copy and pasted the pertinent information for her. Cyndi (GM CSR) after two hours of retelling the information over and over again and complaints online for same issue, she said it wasn't because every car is different. (I have copy of transcript and she would take over 10 minutes to respond to anything). I had to reiterate to her the same information about the bulletin and the class action then she said she would contact me 2-4 business days on what the outcome was after she talks to the dealership..
