About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
Rear suspension was always a little noisy, but ~1,850 miles the driver's side rear sounded like it was detached and breaking through the strut tower. I quit driving the car and make an appointment to drop it off at the dealership on 12/5/24. Dealership confirmed that "fasteners" were broken on the rear strut, in a place that cannot be easily accessed, and confirmed multiple times that it is definitely a problem that existed from the factory. There are two pins on the rear struts that are broken off on my vehicle, and the dealer _strongly_ advised against driving it. My car has now been at the dealership for 51 days as they are awaiting inspection by GM as well as instructions and approval to fix, and the dealership noted that they need to figure out how many cars this affects as well as what the fix will be.
