it sucks when you trust someone to use your sh*t and they jack it up and leave you screwed.

Engine was running rough on my 4.3 liter V-6 and would stall at idle. Started ok, and after engine warmed up these problems occured. I did everything but change the kitchen sink. Finally I gave up and had the engine diagnosed at the dealership at pretty penny. They did find the problem with the distributor. The only problem is they could not find a replacement unit and had to rebuild, I expect this should happen again in a few years.

The truck cranks fine and runs like a top for approx. 3 miles, but then starts running poorly, missing, etc. This continues whether driving at slow speeds or high. This happens every time I drive the truck. I've changed fuel pump & filter, plug wires, plugs, dist. cap, rotor, repaired vacuum leak, timed engine, replaced PCV valve. All replacement parts were Delco or equivalent. There has to be a key somewhere for it running well cold & then poorly after a few miles. When it starts running poorly its like someone flipping a switch. In other words, its not a gradual worsening, its running well one second and the next poorly.
