problem #1

Camaro V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 73,000 miles

I purchased the vehicle in January 2014. After a few days, I smelled a burning smell. Called the dealer and inquired. He had no idea what it was. It smelled like oil, but I wasn't sure. I had the dealer check the vehicle out, but they found nothing.

In January of 2016 the stability light randomly came on, but went off after a while. Then the check engine light came on. I was still able to drive the car, until one day it wouldn't start. Luckily it was in the driveway at the time.

I had the vehicle towed to the local AAA mechanic. He asked what type of gas I used. I told him the manual said I could use regular gas. He said that was my problem and I should use mid grade, and that 2 fuel injectors were completely clogged, and needed replacing.

I asked them to replace the injectors. Since it was time for my inspection, the AAA mechanic replaced the injectors, then kept the vehicle and drove it for a few days to see if the light would come back on. The light didn't come back on. When I came to pick the vehicle up and paid for it, the check engine light came on again a minute after I started the car. I will discuss the next problem in a separate post.
