Camaro SS 6.2L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,500 miles

Check engine light and the stability tack lights turned on and off at about 74,500 miles. Took the car to the dealership and was informed there was a problem with cylinder number 5, but they didn't do any repairs. They told me it was a common problem with this car but that they will not cover repair cost. I just took it to another mechanic and was informed that the engine has low compression. Pending repairs. Oil and maintained were done on a regular basis.

Dealership told me unless the light was on there was nothing wrong. Called the General Manager and had to yell to get the service department to scan my car for issues when my car was under warranty! I sent my husband to take it in and the service guy said he claimed my husband didn't know what was wrong implying he is stupid! After insulting my husband and frustrating me, they told me they found nothing wrong but they were going to change the spark plugs and clean the pistons. I called the service manager and he said the engine misfired and there was a service bulletin out for this issue. So there was nothing wrong before but all of a sudden codes were there? Funny how that works. Went in to pick up my car and they didn't change the spark plugs and claimed they never said they would change them! I'm currently looking for the details on bulletin PIP5029D. If anyone has these details please let me know.
