problem #2

Cavalier 2.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 136,702 miles

I pressed the clutch in to start my beauty and then the clutch stayed down. Had a hard time finding at first. I was able to drive it into a shop. The parts place wanted 600 dollars for the parts! decided to go with rock auto and only spent 170.

Cavalier 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 107,000 miles

so i have seen many other post of people's slave master cylinder going bad mine did to ok so it's under the transmission and it takes a shop a whole day to fix it not to mention the part cost 350$ the labor at least another 300-500 and that is if your mechanic is an old freind. the first shop i took it too wanted 1300 to fix. i had to pay them 75 for the diagnostics. then tow it to place # 2 i had mine replaced and get this its two weeks later and i get stranded agian only this time instead of the clutch sticking to the floor . the shifter threw itself out of gear and now is completly disengauged. im having the mechanic that fixed it have alook but it seems to me that after reading many people with the same problem i will not buy another gm until they start making parts ect reasonably priced.

my car now is only worth a couple thousand. if i would have known it would cost my much headace and time and nearly 2 thousand in all the ways ive been screwed over this much known problem.i would have donated it and got something thats not a money pit that holds no value.
