I was downshifting from third to second gear after slowing down dramatically on a turn and my car made a clunk sound. Come to find out my clutch burnt up and my starter then was fried and that it bust a ring of some sort. My car only had 464 miles on it. It has been sent to a dealer and GM denied it it has been there for a month and they have just told me about a week ago now they have to re/evaluate it and the aren't doing crap is say it is going to cost about 1600 hundred dollars for stuff that should be covered under warranty or recalled or something.

11/24/05 clutch burning odor, was told it was normal exhaust coating burning off 12/27/05 clutch slipping while on highway, proceeded to the dealership, where it took almost 3 weeks and cost me 1600 dollars to replace a failing clutch. Later confirmed for a private mechanic that the clutch was too weak for the cars hp rating. I am not the only Cobalt ss/SC to have this failure.
