Had the car in five times so far. GM issued a technical bulletin 07/15/2008 stating the brake squealing was "normal" and didn't affect the braking performance.(I have been driving for 39 years and have NEVER had any Brake squealing noises occur in any of the brands or models I've owned>) If I had known the brakes squealed, loudly, almost everytime I braked I NEVER would've bought the car. GM knew of this problem and didn't notify their sales people let alone their customers until they brought the car in on complaints!!!!!!! . It started at about 2000 miles. The dealership has replaced the brakes to not difference: Didn't even make it out the dealership drive before squealing. Called GM customer assistance several times and was finally told on 12/03/2009 that it could be "driver habits" or when I told her I had parked the car, in my garage, since the 3rd she said "when a car has been parked for a long time the brakes get rusty" (Please see statement about Dealership driveway.) I have contacted my attorney. The car is so annoying, so grating on the mind to drive (Like screeching nails on a blackboard) that I get so upset driving it I can't drive it. If this is a top end Cobalt SS I'd hate to see the bottom. I've been so disappointed with this car I've requested my money back. I will pursue this until I receive Justice and GM does what is RIGHT for their customers; unless all their talk about "Customer Satisfaction" are LIES and B*S
