These Cobalt SS cars had plenty of power, and in the Turbo configuration an additional German made clutch and pressure plate. These clutches still failed much sooner than most. It was unlikely to be all driver error-since the failure was common. At the age of nine years; and on the third clutch(Centerforce from Phoenix-a two level clutch), the tranny itself finally quit. It dropped the second gear, which had been the "sticky" gear for some time. Now I have located a custom built five-speed for about 4000 USD. It has a special made aluminum case by man name Perotto, and is assembled by John Powell Race shop in Ontario. Canada. I could not buy a better car for 5 or six grand, and so will fix this screamer.
