I have owned a 2010 Chevy Cobalt since 2012. Shortly after purchasing, the check engine light turned on. The power locks erratically lock and unlock. The windows will become jammed and suddenly will not roll back up. Cruise control will randomly stop working. I had issues with the transmission which cost me over $3,000 to fix. Then, there was the ignition switch recall which the dealer fixed at no cost. But now I am having problems with the power steering. I have to turn my ignition off and on for the power steering warning message to turn off but then it turns back on a few minutes later. I am aware that there was a recall for the power steering but yet the dealer refuses to address this issue with my car because they say that recall was performed by a previous owner. The NHTSA website states bulletin 14115 regarding power steering recall began July 17, 2014. Mind you I have owned this car since 2012 and have not had the power steering recall issues fixed. N140115 also states that it includes "2010 Chevy Cobalt and vehicles repaired in recall 10V-073 that received repairs prior to May 31, 2010." Therefore, they should be held accountable and fix this problem with my vehicle or provide me with a car that is safe. The first time my power steering went out I was on a freeway on ramp when my steering wheel locked up. I could have died! this is a life threatening issue and I sincerely believe this is a lemon car.

1. cruise control engages on it's own and lunges forward, even in traffic at 10 mph speed. 2. seat belt on drivers seat, while stationary, doesn't release easily and takes about 30-45 seconds at times to release. 3.while on the road driving, the car displayed all the information on the dash, such as; tire pressure, oil life, mileage, etc., then the car's speed reduces and it flashes words "power steering" and then the car died in traffic and I was almost hit from behind before I could get the car off the road. I had to call a tow truck and be taken to Chevy dealer and they found nothing wrong. This has happened again today, 5/29/2016 and I had to leave my car in store parking lot for four hours and then it started, drove 5 miles home and went out again right before I pulled into driveway. 4. while driving on the freeway, I engaged the brakes and they barely stopped me and brakes pads are good on car.

Was driving at highway speeds going up a incline (hill) when my car chimed and a message read (engine power reduced) was in the outside passing lane with a semi behind me passing a slower moving car. Car power reduced to 30mph and lunged like not getting enough fuel. I barely missed a narrow escape of getting rear ended. Got over in the slow lane the highway become narrow with no shoulder to pull over so I was going to drive till I could pull over but them another chime and my dash read (engine disabled) and motor shut off. Coast to someone's driveway and set there shaking from being scared for about 15 minutes. Decided to try ignition and the car restarted and was able to limp to a pull off and call for a tow home. I realize my car is out of warranty and has 119K miles on it but nobody should be faced with a situation like I was put in. Also I contacted my local dealer months ago about my ignition recall and was told they would order the parts then call me to bring my car in and like I said that was almost 3 months ago and I have heard nothing no phone call.

While driving along in my Cobalt, suddenly, without warning, the engine power dropped off and the vehicle basically came to a stop in busy traffic. This, (affecting power steering, speed, control and stability),but, .. most importantly !!,.. severely threatened the safety of vehicle occupants. It was all I could do to get out of harms way..(.. I was turning left, safely spacing oncoming traffic when this happened the 1st time..).!! very scary when cars are blasting toward you and the car won't respond as it should. This has happened many more times since that first encounter and at any time, without prior warning, it will put you in very hazardous, unsafe, dangerous and potentially deadly situations..!!!! nice engineering job GM...!!! (where's the common sense or forethought..??)

The cruise control works sometimes then for no reason will cut off and stop working. In the last 8 days when I start up the car to drive and get on the road, severe shaking of the car like a flat tire or the front end was out of alignment. The first time I called on star for assistance. They found nothing wrong? it stopped both times after about 8 min of driving. It was scary. When I park the car the dial hands on the dash the tac. And the speed dial jump like a shortage in it. Not long after I bought the car, the power steering failed with me and the car shut off several times. I took it to vidalia ga for repair. They gave it back to me and said if it happened again to push the info button and restart the car. I am scared of my car. Help me please.

Vehicle became hard to steer and lost power and the brakes would not work. Nothing on the car would work and finally I was unable to fight the wheel anymore and the car flipped. None of the airbags deployed. I think than an investigation for the newer models of the Cobalt be done as well. From the description that was given for the suit that is now ongoing with the GM ignition problem, my car did the exact same thing. We could have been killed in this accident, . I have photos of the vehicle. It was horrible.

While beginning to turn at a corner my power steering light came on making it very difficult to turn the steering wheel of the car. I called my husband and he said to pull over and turn the car off and restart. So I did but after driving a few more miles the power steering light came on again and this continued until I made it home.
