Abnormal tire wear and suspension noises on Chevrolet Colorado 4 X4 2005 model. With less that 20,000 miles both front tires were worn into the steel belts. I replace both tire and had the front end aligned by a local tire store. 5000 miles later the insides were wearing again. This time I took the truck to the local Chevrolet dealer in anderson, SC. I had several items to be addressed before my original warranty expired. One of these items was the front end assemby- squeaks and rattles plus the tire wear. The local dealer kept my truck overnight and reported that I probably needed to get the front-end aligned and I would have to pay for this service because the original tires were not on the truck. The original tires were not on the truck because they were worn out. I had visited my car stats.com to read problems associated with 2005 Colorado. One complaint number 10156778 told of a GM service bulletin concerning torsion bar setup on the Colorado. I asked the Chevrolet dealer to check service bulletin 1686447. They reset the entire front end. I will not know whether or not this fixed the situation until enough miles have been placed on the truck to check for wear. I really appreciate the " mycarstats.com "website. Without this information my local dealer would have done nothing to fix this problem.

: the contact stated while driving various speeds in normal driving conditions, there was a pronounced vibration within the front suspension. The vehicle was inspected by an independent repair shop who determined the vehicle needed an alignment. Afterwards, the problem persisted. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the vehicle needed another front alignment. The contact expressed concern that there may be an issue with the tires wearing prematurely on their own. The tires were general P23575/R15. Additionally, the dealer determined that poor alignment caused the premature wear of those tires. The manufacturer was not notified.

Took vehicle to dealership for excessive wear of inside of the front tires. Since vehicle was at 13000 miles the factory warranty was no longer covered for any repair. Dealership was not going to cover anything. They were going to charge a $40 fee just to evaluate the problem. Since the front end was out of alignment the fee was waived and was charged $59.95 for the alignment. Took vehicle to a tire store and paid for a new set of tires for a total repair of over $200. Research shows that this is a common problem but manufacturer denies any problem. Complaint was filed with manufacturer same day.

I have a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 4X4 crew cab. I've had the truck since the end of February and now have the tire vibration problem. I've had it to the dealership 4 times for this problem and it hasn't been fixed yet. They've rotated and balanced the original tires, they've replaced the tires with new general tires, and still now it has a bad vibration problem that is worse now. The dealership can't seem to get it fixed.
