I feel that Chevrolet has known about this problem as shortly after they introduced the 5 cyl. inline engine in 2010 they discontinued it. I'm not sure how many other people have experienced the same problem, but it was obviously significant as Chevy pulled the Colorado and inline engines and have reconfigured the trucks and gone back to the basic 4, 6 and 8 cyl. engines.
It is going to cost me a lot to fix and I have to as in order to sell the truck, if I ultimately do that, I can't sell it knowing that the timing chain could break at anytime. It is a very costly fix at about $4500 in Canada, and I was wondering if there are any other people out there who have had to fix this problem. I feel that GM should take responsibility and at least offer to pay a portion of the repair to the timing chain.
