Colorado Z71 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,327 miles

2015 colorado Z71 extended cab 13,327 miles.10/2/15

i noticed a rattle in the steering column-worse over bumps, railroad tracks. when sitting in park you can still hear the rattle when you move the steering wheel left to right in a fast motion. took the truck to the dealer and a mechanic heard the rattle i was referring to.parts were ordered, they also reprogrammed the power steering control module with SPS.i was told this was not a safety issue, and that i could drive the vehicle until the parts came in. the parts arrived 10/14/15.they replaced the lower shaft assembly, and the noise was still present.

they contacted technical assistance-case#8-161944947.advised by TAC that a new design steering was being designed for the same noise.bulletin and parts yet to be released.- TAC just had a meeting about the same issue.

i was told again, this is not a safety issue.the vehicle is safe to drive until updated part is available.

it is now 2/27/16, and no call or time frame for the new design.
