My power steering system failed again while driving. The car became very difficult to control, especially at low speeds, and poised a safety concern for myself and drivers around me. I had it inspected, the service center recreated the issue and confirmed the electrical connections have failed, as outlined in the recall cited below. The year, make, model and issue is the same as the information included in campaign 21V213000, however Chevrolet refuses to include my VIN in the list of recalled vehicles.

Lost power steering twice in while traveling 70mph on interstate highway. Specifically, I lost power steering and got lights for loss of "Stabilitrak." I had to pull over to turn off the truck, and power steering returned upon turning back on the vehicle. No loss of power steering fluid was noted. This incident repeated itself exactly the same several days later. Upon taking to the mechanic, they confirmed with the following: "We've confirmed an intermittent issue with the power steering, identified by the retrieval of the C0545 code for the steering torque sensor. Upon conducting a thorough data test, we observed erratic signals from the steering wheel torque sensor. We meticulously inspected all connections, finding no issues. Furthermore, our testing revealed that the torque sensor circuits are not shorted to power or ground, and there are no instances of resistance or opens. We recommend replacing and programming the electronic steering gear assembly, as the steering torque sensor is integrated into it." Final repairs and replacement of the steering gear assembly cost approximately $2500

This issue has been fixed two times already and the issue is still occurring. Power steering quits working while driving anywhere. Service power steering warning light comes on. I shut off the engine and then restarted the engine and power steering was restored. Sometimes this worked. Now I have lost all power steering completely. Because the vehicle has been fixed prior, I have to pay to have the parts replaced again.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, she became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, and the vehicle displayed a message reading "Electronic Power Assist Fault". The EPS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that power to the EPS was lost due to a fault with the battery. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the electronic power steering assist. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V054000 (Steering) but had already been repaired under the recall and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 85,000.

Electrical power steering goes out at random moments. Could be driving down highway, could be sitting in park. Power steering goes out, service stabiltrak message comes up, as well as traction control out message comes up. There have been recalls for other 2015 Chevy Colorado's for power steering but mine doesn't qualify?

My 2015 Colorado is repeatedly losing power steering. Twice while driving and three times upon starting the vehicle the power steering has failed. A warning light shows on the instrument panel to service the power steering. After parking and restarting the truck I have been able to resume driving. This is a VERY FRIGHTENING AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. I learned there was a partial recall of SOME 2015 Colorados, however my truck was not included. I have an appointment with my local Chevy dealer on Monday, August 28.

I lost Power Steering while traveling on an interstate. Luckily at the speed I was traveling it wasn't difficult to steer the vehicle. Once I reached my destination and at a slower speed it was extremely difficult to turn. I turned off the engine and restarted and then it was fine. But the incident has happened about 5 other times at a slower speed. The vehicle is very difficult to steer when making turns. Each turn I was lucky there was not another vehicle in the opposite lane. Otherwise I could have crashed. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they had no detail of which vehicle were involved in service bulletin 15595B. The gave me an 800# to call and was told that my vehicle was not involved. It is obvious that my vehicle should had been included. The bulletin is very vague to the dealer and the consumer. It just reads "certain vehicle".
