Had my 2016 Colorado back to the dealer twice with the same problem. I think about 6 months ago and last week. When you're about to come to a stop, about 50% of the time, w/o warning the 4 cyclinder starts to races and starts pulling you forward in 2 or 1st gear out of nowhere. No warning or lights, just does it. The first time I took it over they said it was probably in the hill assist and there was nothing they could do about it. Last week, I took it over and they said they couldn't make it do it, and it did it on me before I left the end of the parking lot of the dealer. And, randomly, ever since then. This is a WT model, no fancy buttons on the a/c unit to turn hill assist off. Even with a 4 cyclinder engine at 2200 rpms in 1st gear, it can pull your car forwards way beyond the capacity of the brakes on these cars and my only defense to keep from hitting something is to kick it in neutral as fast as possible and it often goes up to 4000 rpms. So, I'm really trying to hold back 4000 rpms coming to a stop. I can't make it do it on command, but it does it when it wants too. Oddly enough, once I have it in neutral and the car stops, you can let our foot off the brake and the rpms immediately drop back to 1000 rpms, which is about what it does or should be doing. I've filed a lemon law report on the car and bought a helmet cam to try and photograph it when it does it starting tomorrow. I don't have any after market products on the truck and frankly, other than this problem, the truck has been a delight. Since we live in a litigation society, I've filed a complaint with the NHSB and the lemon law so I can show that I did everything I possibly could to keep this from happening and take this dangerous situation off the road. Maybe, they'll sue GMAC, not me for millions. It's a wreck waiting on a place to happen and I'm in my 60's. Sooner or later, it's going to get away from me. And, since I owe money on it I'm stuck with it as it's my daily driver. Anyone got a clue, since as they say, "The last mechanic died". Probably a metaphor, but sometimes it seems that way.
