The ignition key can not be removed after putting the vehicle in park and shutting it off. Many attempts are required to jiggle the shifter switch/steering column/key before it will release on most occasions. This is a common issue, going back years, to 2015. How can it still not be resolved? The safety issue here is one of having your vehicle stolen because you are forced to leave the key in the ignition for all to see; or owners are choosing to disable the steering lock prevention altogether, which has its own set of dangers. GM needs to solve and fix this. So far it sounds like they don't even understand the real problem.

The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine control module (ECM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

Making right hand turns intermittently the steering started locking until let off the throttle then it would release happened couple of times trying to get into a dealer to look at it. But the last time making right hand turn steering wheel made a hard right hand turn to the stop and was so hard couldn't hold on to the steering wheel happened do fast couldn't do anything almost crashed into the shoulder of the road the electric steering system on a colorado is extremely dangerous never had anything like this happen with any other vechiles I've owned and had many different brands.
